The committee of Newtongrange Star wants to build on the trdaitions of the club going back 100 years to provide the people of Newtongrange and surrounding areas with a community inspired, developed and managed facility, accessible to people of all ages, abilities or status to access sporting, social and life skills. All will be treated equally.
Our shared dream is for The Star to become the leading grass roots led community club in Scotland by 2015.
Our vision and aspirations for the future has a number of aims and objectives:
- provide new opportunities for more people to participate in sport and recreational activities.
- provide learning and development opportunities for people.
- have a positive impact on people through health improvement, increased employment opportunities and crime reduction.
- help strengthen community cohesion by becoming a focal point for a range of community based activities and programmes.
This web site will allow information to be provided about the progress of the community activity by the Star JFC.
This will include details of meetings, progress made and development of the various initiatives.
Not everything will run smoothly, and progress will always be dependent on many factors. So please be tolerant of what might appear to be delays. As befitting the Star club we will be tenacious in persuing improvements and new opportunities for all. This site will give an honest account of what is happening and why.
This will only work if many people are involved, especially those who have opinions on what the club could be doing for the community. If you would like to contribute your time in any way just speak to a committee member at any of the games.
